Are you looking to kick off a new career in IT? Our IT Technical Support courses provide learners with a strong foundation of technical knowledge to pursue a career in IT and secure a role in IT Support.
In addition to comprehensive entry-level training in Systems and Infrastructure, you’ll cover a range of personal development fundamentals to help set you up for a new career in IT.

As part of your enrolment process, you will have access to designated IAG staff to provide you with the support needed to help you make an informed decision regarding this course, making sure this it is right for you.

On completion of this course, you’ll receive a Level 3 Certificate in Systems and Infrastructure.
Our IT Technical Support courses will be available to learners in various regions in the UK and face-to-face classes will take place with tutors online.
You must be 19+ to be eligible for this funding. Additionally, if you’re between the ages of 19 and 23 you’ll need to have a full Level 3 qualification to be eligible. If you’re 24+ years old you won’t need this.
To be eligible you’ll also either need to be unemployed, or employed and earning less than £25k per year.
Initial Assessments in English and Maths and other eligibility checks will be carried out during enrolment.
The assessment for the IT Support courses will include ongoing assessments throughout the course.
If you meet the entry requirement criteria, these courses are fully funded by the UK Government. Meaning you do not have to pay anything.
Portland Training may also be able to access a Learner Support Fund to offer financial support for learners who are facing financial hardship to help pay for things that are not covered in the course funding, such as travel to and from the course venue.

As part of these courses, you will receive impartial advice and support as part of Portland Training’s ongoing Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) provision to enable you to make informed decisions on your future.
You will be assigned a designated Employment & Progression officer who’s job it is to offer impartial support and guidance on your next steps. You will also receive ongoing employability training, including important training such as, interview techniques and CV writing.
We also work with a range of local employers to help our learners gain employment on completion of their course.
