Our logistics courses are designed to prepare you for entry into one of the UK’s fastest-growing sectors, helping you build the practical knowledge and workplace skills needed to succeed in a variety of logistics and warehousing roles.
Portland’s Further Your Potential in Logistics course introduces you to the key responsibilities involved in logistics and supply chain operations, including picking and packing, manual handling, stock control, health and safety, and working effectively in a team environment. You’ll gain insight into the daily routines of warehouse operatives and delivery roles, helping you understand what employers expect and how to meet those expectations.
This course runs for 5 days (Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm) and provides a structured, supportive introduction to the logistics industry. Whether you’re starting out, returning to work, or considering a career change, this course will help you build the confidence and job-ready skills needed to take your next step.

- Non-devolved areas
19+yrs, unemployed, or employed and earning less than the threshold amount.
Must be a full time resident in the UK and meet other residency criteria
Initial Assessments in English and Maths and other eligibility checks will be carried out at enrolment.
This course will taught using a range of practical and theoretical units. Assessment criteria will include practical assessments, written assessments and the completion of a portfolio.
If you meet the entry requirement criteria, this course may be fully funded. Meaning you may not have to pay anything.
Portland Training may also be able to access a Learner Support Fund to offer financial support for learners who are facing financial hardship to help pay for things that are not covered in the course funding, such as travel to and from the course venue.

This course can open the door to a wide range of entry-level roles in the logistics sector, such as:
Warehouse operative

You may also go on to further training in areas such as Forklift Truck Operation, Health and Safety, or Supply Chain and Logistics at Level 1 or Level 2.
