The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is the leading certification scheme for the construction industry in the UK. To work on a construction site, you must have a CSCS card. There are different types of CSCS cards, depending on your qualifications and experience. A red trainee CSCS card is for people who are new to the construction industry and are undergoing training.

To get a red trainee CSCS card, you must first pass the Health, Safety and Environment test. This test is designed to ensure that you have the knowledge and understanding of health and safety regulations that are essential for working on a construction site. Once you have passed the test, you can apply for your red trainee CSCS card.

It’s important to note that a red trainee CSCS card is only valid for 2 years and you can not renew it after this period. If you want to continue to work in construction after your trainee card has expired, you must achieve another CSCS card qualification.
