What is a red experienced worker CSCS card?
A red experienced worker CSCS card is a construction industry qualification that proves an individual has the necessary skills and experience to work on construction sites. The Red CSCS Experienced Worker Card is a temporary card designed for those who have at least one year’s work experience in a construction-related occupation and are currently undertaking a CSCS recognised NVQ/SVQ qualification. It is non-renewable and expires after one year.
Who can apply for a red experienced worker CSCS card?
If you have at least one year of experience working in the construction industry, you may be eligible to apply for a red experienced worker CSCS card. You must also be registered to complete a construction-related NVQ course (see below for a list of relevant courses).
What jobs can I do with a red experienced worker card?
If you have a red experienced worker CSCS card, you can work on construction sites as a labourer. This includes tasks such as manual handling, site set-up and clearance, and helping tradespeople with their work. You may also be able to operate certain types of machinery, depending on your experience and training. It’s important to note, your red experienced worker card will expire after one year. ON completion of your relevant NVQ you will receive a blue skilled worker card which is a permanent card which can be renewed.
