Level 2 Award in Understanding the PREVENT and Safeguarding Strategies

The Level 2 Award in Understanding the PREVENT and Safeguarding Strategies is aimed at
everyone who has a responsibility to help safeguard young people and help to prevent their
radicalisation. It demonstrates that individuals understand the purpose of the Prevent
Strategy and radicalisation, helping to safeguard children and young people.
The Regulated Qualifications Framework is the single framework for regulated
qualifications, the regulatory body for this qualification is the Office of Qualifications and
Examinations Regulation (Ofqual).
The registration and certification fee for this qualification includes candidate access to a
high impact learning resource which has been developed by one of our partners within the
movie industry

Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge and/or skills described in the unit.
Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification.

Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of
all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.

Evidence can include:

– assignments/projects/reports
– worksheets
– portfolio of evidence
– record of oral and/or written questioning
– candidate test papers

There are no formal entry requirements to take this qualification. This qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area.
