What do I need to complete the Level 3 NVQ in Formwork?

How long does a Level 3 NVQ in Formwork take to complete?
This NVQ can be completed at the convenience of the candidate. If you are willing to undertake more time to complete your NVQ, then you will obtain the qualification faster.
If you’re looking to get through it quickly, some of our learners complete this qualification in 8-12 weeks.

You must complete the eight mandatory units listed below. You may choose to complete any of the optional units with specific to your role, but these will not count towards the qualification. You can view the specifications in full detail here.

- Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace
- Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace
- Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace
- Erecting and striking timber and proprietary formwork in the workplace
- Constructing, maintaining and repairing complex timber and proprietary formwork in the workplace
- Erecting and striking timber and proprietary formwork for complex structures in the workplace
- Conforming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace
- Moving, handling and storing resources in the workplace
Optional Units:
- Preparing and operating scissor-type mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in the workplace
- Preparing and operating boom-type mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in the workplace
- Preparing and operating mast climber-type mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) in the workplace
- Slinging and hand signalling the movement of suspended loads in the workplace
