How is the ITIL 4 Foundation course assessed?

Assessment is via a closed-book, multiple-choice exam consisting of 40 questions to be completed in 60 minutes. A minimum pass mark of 26/40 (65%) is required. Non-native English speakers may receive up to 25% extra time.

4. ITIL Guiding Principles

  • Apply the seven guiding principles that underpin ITIL 4: focus on value, start where you are, iterate with feedback, collaborate, think holistically, simplify, and automate when appropriate

5. Selected ITIL Practices (15 core practices)

  • Gain working knowledge of key practices such as Change Enablement, Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Desk, Service Request Management, Continual Improvement, Service Level Management, and others

  • These practices represent those most frequently assessed at Foundation level
