The Level 1 health and safety is the starting point for most construction sites. This qualification recognises that, on a building site, you need to be able to work safely and in a safe manner. If you want to progress to higher levels of qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 2 or 3, this qualification can help open up those doors.

All Portland Training NVQs are competency-based with the candidate producing evidence of what they do in their work situation which becomes the basis of a portfolio that is assessed against the relevant occupational standard. Our expert assessors visit you during your normal job operations and assess you against the specific NVQ criteria.
