Portland Training Volunteers for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal 2025
This November, Portland Training was proud to volunteer once again in support of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. This year marks the third year in a row that our team has taken part in this important fundraising initiative.
Members of the Portland Training team spent the day volunteering at M&S Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield, helping to distribute poppies and speak with members of the public about the importance of the appeal. It was a privilege to see so many shoppers take time to remember and reflect, while generously supporting a cause that means so much to so many.
Why We Volunteer
The Poppy Appeal is the Royal British Legion’s annual fundraising campaign, held each October and November to support serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, and their families across the UK. Volunteers play a vital role in the success of the appeal, helping to raise funds and awareness that enable the Legion to continue its work throughout the year.
Money raised through the Poppy Appeal helps the Royal British Legion provide financial assistance, specialist support for wounded, injured, and sick veterans, as well as ongoing community services and guidance for veterans and their families.
Supporting the Appeal for a Third Year
Returning to Meadowhall for a third consecutive year was particularly meaningful for our team. Each year, the generosity shown by the local community reinforces why we continue to support the Poppy Appeal. Portland Training is proud to contribute in a small way to the Royal British Legion’s mission to provide lifelong support to those who have served.
