As part of your enrolment process, you will have access to designated IAG staff to provide you with the support needed to help you make an informed decision regarding this course, making sure this it is right for you.

This course is only available for people living in the York and North Yorkshire region
19+yrs, unemployed and in receipt of government benefits or employed and earning less than the threshold amount.
Must be a full time resident in the UK and hold a valid ID (Passport, Driving Licence, Birth Certificate, E-Visa or Citizenship Card)
Initial Assessments in English and Maths and other eligibility checks will be carried out at enrolment.
For remote delivery, a suitable laptop or PC (with webcam and headset) is required
This course will taught using a range of practical and theoretical units. Assessment criteria will include practical assessments, written assessments and the completion of a portfolio.
If you meet the entry requirement criteria, this course may be fully funded. Meaning you may not have to pay anything.
Portland Training may also be able to access a Learner Support Fund to offer financial support for learners who are facing financial hardship to help pay for things that are not covered in the course funding, such as travel to and from the course venue.

The Further Your Potential in Construction course is designed for people who would like to pursue a career in construction. The course equips learners with the basic skills to find employment on construction sites.

As part of this course, you will receive impartial advice and support as part of Portland Training’s ongoing Information, Advice & Guidance (IAG) provision to enable you to make informed decisions on your future.
You will be assigned a designated Employment & Progression officer whos job it is to offer impartial support and guidance on your next steps. You will also receive ongoing employability training, including important training such as, interview techniques and CV writing.
We also work with a range of local employers to help our learners gain employment on completion of their course.
