What NVQs Can I Do?

Level 3 NVQ- Occupational Work Supervision: This NVQ is ideal for individuals looking to progress into a supervisory role within their field of work. It covers areas such as health and safety, resource allocation, and maintaining productive working relationships.
- Level 3 NVQ- Construction Contracting Operations: If you are interested in the operational side of construction, this NVQ is a great option. It focuses on tasks related to planning, organizing, and managing construction projects effectively.
- Other Specific Level 3 NVQs: Apart from the above-mentioned NVQs, we also offer various other Level 3 NVQs tailored to specific job roles within the construction industry. These include specific trades.
Am I Eligible?
To be eligible for a fully funded Level 3 NVQ with Portland Training, you need to meet the following criteria:
- Residency: You must live in the GLA Area (Greater London Authority) or the SYMCA Area (South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority).*
- Age: You must be 19 years old or above.
- Qualification: You should not have obtained a previous Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
*South Yorkshire including Sheffield, Rotherham, Doncaster and Barnsley. You can check this map of the GLA region to see if you fall into this area.
Additionally, it’s important to note that to complete one of our Level 3 NVQs, you should be employed in the role you wish to pursue your NVQ in. Our assessors utilize a competency-based approach, where they will observe you at your place of work and assess you against the specifications of the awarding body. Once you provide sufficient evidence to fulfill the criteria, you can successfully complete your Level 3 NVQ.

What Next?
Upon completion of your fully funded level 3 NVQ, you’ll be qualified to obtain the relevant gold CSCS card. You’ll need to complete the CITB Health and Safety Test to obtain the card. If you’re in urgent need of CSCS certification, you’ll be able to apply for a temporary Red CSCS card. For this, you will also need to complete the CITB Health and Safety test relevant to your occupation. You must be enrolled on the NVQ before applying for this card.
