About the Role

Employer/Stakeholder Engagement Officer

Job Title: Employer/Stakeholder Engagement Officer

Responsible to: Employer/Stakeholder Engagement Manager

Location: This is a hybrid role with expected travel.

Purpose of the role:

To source, identify and gain sustainable employment opportunities for learners aged 19+. Develop and manage partnerships and work with our key stakeholders nationally in line with our delivery locations. Work collaboratively with the operations team to ensure timely progression of all learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • To establish local, regional and national employer relationships guaranteeing ring fenced vacancies for Portland Training learners
  • To identify and create opportunities for the development and delivery of Sector Based Work Academies (SBWA’s) across all contract areas
  • To identify all learner needs to ensure clear and timely progression routes.
  • Utilise internal management information systems to accurately track and record learners progression
  • Communicate with the operations team and stakeholders on all aspects of learner progress and provide support and resolutions to barriers to progression
  • Support the Employer/Stakeholder Engagement Manager to develop employer network forums to identify labour market demands, to ensure Portland training are consistently responding to employer needs
  • Frequently attend stakeholder meetings, job fairs, community events, existing employer forums in order to promote the Portland offer
  • To coordinate employer visits taking place at the course venues or local stakeholders premises
  • Ensure effective Careers Information, Education, Advice and Guidance (CIEAG) is carried out and use information obtained at enrolment/induction to ensure that learners progression are planned to meet their needs
  • Effective communication with all stakeholders, partners and wider team to support and meet the learner needs
  • Providing regular weekly and monthly progress reports to the Employer/Stakeholder Engagement Manager
  • Review and analyse own performance against required outcomes to ensure organisational targets are met or exceeded
  • Generate new employer leads through calls and face to face meetings
  • Keep up to date with local and national labour market trends particularly in the areas of construction, warehousing, logistics and security

Core Responsibilities

  • Work closely with job seekers, career advisors, and job placement teams to match qualified candidates with suitable job openings
  • Facilitate the job placement process by coordinating interviews, assessments, and other recruitment activities
  • Generate a clear pipeline of employment opportunities to meet monthly, quarterly and annual outcome targets
  • Ensure Ofsted and funding guidance is adhered to and knowledge is continually updated.
  • Responsible for safeguarding of vulnerable adults and ensuring Portland Training’s Safeguarding and Prevent policy and processes are adhered to at all times
  • Advocate a culture of equality, diversity, and inclusion at all times in line with our policy and values
  • Commit to personal development and undertake training where appropriate.
  • Review and analyse own performance against required outcomes to ensure targets are met or exceeded
  • May occasionally be required to work out of normal hours and take on additional responsibilities as requested by line management
  • Positively contributes toward the BEST culture (Share ideas, support other members of staff, going above and beyond, enhancing the reputation, positively impacting as a champion, additional duties to help achieve business goals)
  • Clearly demonstrating Portland’s policies and procedures (Attendance, Professional conduct)

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven record of generating new business
  • Knowledge of labour market trends and key sectors
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Proven record of achieving targets
  • Communication skills
  • Full driving licence and business insurance
  • Willingness to travel nationally

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work towards Level 2 Safeguarding and IAG qualifications
  • Maths and English GCSE A-C (or equivalent)

Salary: £26,000-£28,000 per year
